Summary

  1. Theme: "Prepare for the Lord's coming, do not be deceived, stand firm, and praise the Lord throughout the earth." Based on Psalm 113 and 2 Thessalonians 2, teaching about the Passover praise and discerning the end times.
  2. The Psalms 113–118 sung during the Passover meal (Mark 14:26) commemorate the liberation from Egypt and proclaim "Praise the Lord" across generations. Praise is the inheritance of the memory of salvation.
  3. Psalm 113:2–3 sings that the Lord's name will be praised "from now to eternity" and "from the rising of the sun to its setting." We join in this universal praise that transcends time and place.
  4. "The Lord is high above all nations" (Ps 113:4). As those who serve the Creator whose glory is higher than the heavens, we realize our mission to participate in the spread of world missions and proclaim His name.
  5. "He sits on high... and looks down" (Ps 113:5–6). The Lord watches over us whether far or near. Those worshipping from afar unite their hearts and maintain fellowship online.
  6. "He raises the poor from the dust... and seats them with princes" (Ps 113:7–8). Equality before God is a heavenly value sung by King David himself, transcending earthly status.
  7. "He gives the barren woman a home" (Ps 113:9). God provides new joy and roles within the community of the church, comforting those in weakness and leading them to restoration.
  8. 2 Thessalonians 2:1–7 teaches that apostasy and the appearance of the lawless one occur before the "Day of the Lord," commanding us not to be shaken by falsehoods but to discern the order. The "restrainer" means the time is not yet fulfilled.
  9. 2 Thessalonians 2:9–12 warns against Satan's "counterfeit power, signs, and wonders." Keep the love for the truth, do not be deceived by the power of delusion, and stand firm by discerning with the Word.
  10. 2 Thessalonians 2:13–17 speaks of the certain hope of those called to election through "sanctification by the Spirit" and "faith in the truth." Keep the "traditions" of the apostles and be strengthened for good works and right speech.
